ST. JOHN’S (N.L.) – James Dinn of Witless Bay, N.L. is a regular lottery player, with a particular interest in Scratch’N Win tickets. He recently decided to try the 20X Supreme ticket when the $2-million top prize caught his eye, he just never thought he’d actually be taking that $2-million prize home with him.

“I got home and when I looked at it, I said, ‘Did I just win the lottery?’” Dinn said. “I had to call just to confirm it. I still don’t know if I believe it.”

Dinn called Atlantic Lottery to get confirmation that he did in fact have a winning ticket. After speaking with a customer care representative, Dinn said the reality of his $2-million win finally began to sink in.

20X Supreme is a $20 Scratch’N Win ticket with a top prize of $2 million. The game launched in September 2023 and there are five top prizes still remaining.

Dinn was eager to share the good news with his mother but knew she was probably going to think it was some sort of joke.

“She was pretty excited,” Dinn said. “She just said, ‘I hope it’s for real.’”

Plans for his winnings include paying off his mortgage and bills, investing and helping out a few people. He also said his prize money will help him have some fun, as he has plans to purchase a new RV and travel.

“It feels good, but I can’t believe I’ve won it yet, really.” Dinn said. “Everyone dreams of winning the lottery.”

Dinn purchased his winning 20x Supreme ticket at Grocery, Deli & More in Witless Bay, N.L. The retailer will receive a one per cent seller’s prize.
