MONCTON (N.B.) – Sandra Palmer of Summerside, P.E.I. has been playing MEGA 360 since its launch in 2023, but finding a ticket in-store became a challenge after another Summerside resident’s recent big win. Palmer was determined to continue playing though, and her visits to numerous stores paid off when she won a spin on the MEGA 360 wheel, ultimately leading to a $225,000 prize.

“I’ve been playing since October and really like it. I’ve been winning $5, $10, $20, so I just kept getting more tickets,” Palmer said. “I went to three different stores before I found them so when I did, I bought two.”

Palmer won a spin on one of the tickets, so she scanned it with the Atlantic Lottery mobile app. When the animated wheel stopped spinning, she could hardly believe that it landed on MEGA 360.

MEGA 360 is the first Scratch, Watch and Spin game offered by Atlantic Lottery. The game can be played as either a Scratch’N Win ticket at retail or as an Instant Win game at alc.ca. Players first scratch their ticket or click through their digital game, and those who unlock the “spin” feature in their game get to watch an animated wheel spin to reveal their prize – this happens during in-store validation for Scratch’N Win tickets or online for Instant Win games. If a spin lands on “MEGA 360”, the player wins the opportunity to spin the MEGA 360 wheel at Atlantic Lottery’s head office in Moncton, N.B.

Palmer and her family visited Atlantic Lottery’s head office on Friday, March 8 to spin the big wheel. Prizes on the MEGA 360 wheel range from $100,000 to $500,000, guaranteeing anyone who spins the wheel walks away with at least a $100,000 prize. Palmer’s wheel spin resulted in her prize of $225,000.

“It’s so crazy, it feels so good,” Palmer said. “I’m just a happy girl!”

Palmer and her husband own a local fish market and restaurant. While Palmer works at the market seasonally, she may book more days off to travel this summer thanks to her big win.

“I hadn’t travelled in five years, then all of a sudden I went to Mexico with my sister and realized how much I missed it, so I went back again,” Palmer said. “I was a little bit stressed thinking I shouldn’t be putting this much money out on these trips, but now I’ve won and I’m ready to go again.”

Palmer has already booked another trip south to celebrate her big win. She also plans to travel to New York City and Scotland with her husband, and France with her daughter, who is hoping to make a pitstop on the way to take in a Morgan Wallen concert, including a meet-and-greet with the country music star.

Other plans for her winnings include spoiling her family and saving so she is able to enjoy any opportunities that come her way.

Palmer is now the second resident of Summerside to win big on MEGA 360, joining Shelby Worth who took home $400,000 following her spin of the big wheel in January.

Palmer purchased her winning MEGA 360 ticket at Granville Corner Store in Summerside, P.E.I. The retailer will receive a one per cent seller’s prize.
