HALIFAX (N.S.) – Russell Musgrave of Boularderie Centre, N.S. loves to try different Atlantic Lottery games and often purchases whatever Scratch’N Win ticket is hot off the presses. That’s how Musgrave won the $1.5-million top-prize on the new Atlantic Canada-only Super Set for Life ticket.

“I asked the cashier if there was anything new, and she showed me that one, so I asked how much for a whole pack of them,” Musgrave said. “She checked and said it would be $400 for the entire package, so I said, ‘Well, give me $200 worth of them.’”

Musgrave sat down with his tickets as soon as he got home, and the very first ticket he scratched was a top-prize winner worth $1.5 million.

“That ticket had to be the first ticket she took out of the package,” Musgrave said. “What are the chances of that?”

Super Set for Life was previously offered in various lottery jurisdictions across Canada but is now available exclusively in Atlantic Canada. The $20 Scratch’N Win ticket offers two options for the top-prize: $100,000 a year for 20 years or a lump sum payment of $1.5 million. Musgrave will receive the lump sum payment.

Musgrave plans to use his winnings to renovate his home, pay off his daughter's mortgage and help out his loved ones.

“I feel great,” Musgrave said. “It’s a very substantial pile of money.”

Musgrave purchased his winning Super Set for Life ticket at Brewer’s Convenience in North Sydney, N.S. This is not the first winning Super Set for Life ticket sold by Brewer’s Convenience. Pat and Clint Lettice of Sydney Mines, N.S., who won the Super Set for Life top prize in April 2023, also purchased their ticket at the same retail location.

The retailer will receive a one per cent seller’s prize.
