MONCTON (N.B.) – Gerard Regan of Barnaby, N.B. has long had the routine of depositing $36 into his alc.ca account each Sunday to purchase his lottery tickets for the week. While always hoped one of those tickets would win him a big prize, he’s only thinking of others now that his Lotto Max ticket for the Nov. 19, 2024 draw was a $1-million Maxmillions winner.
“I’m excited, I ‘ve been playing forever,” Regan said. “I’m going to make other people happy with it.”
Regan plans to share his winnings with his three sisters. He has no specific plans for spending any prize money on himself, as sharing it with others is his priority.
“I can’t see my day to day changing any,” Regan said. “I’ll still take my neighbour’s dog for a walk every day, just like I do now.”
