MONCTON (N.B.) – Atlantic Lottery’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dallas McCready as the next President and CEO. McCready has served as Atlantic Lottery’s Chief Strategy Officer since 2022 and brings to the position more than 20 years of experience in the gaming industry and the public sector. McCready’s appointment is effective immediately.
Following a comprehensive Board-led search process, McCready was selected from a robust pool of candidates.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are thrilled that our search identified Dallas as the next President and CEO of Atlantic Lottery,” said Sean O’Connor, Chair of Atlantic Lottery’s Board of Directors. “He brings significant gaming experience and a unique set of skills and experiences that will drive the organization forward at a very exciting time in the industry. The fact that we were able to identify the ideal next President and CEO from the internal executive ranks speaks to the strength and depth of the team at Atlantic Lottery.”
Last year, Atlantic Lottery’s former President and CEO Patrick Daigle announced his intention to retire from Atlantic Lottery in 2025 after more than 27 years of service. An ad-hoc Board committee was established to oversee the recruitment of the next President and CEO, with a focus on a seamless transition and appointing the successful candidate in early 2025. The committee partnered with Royer Thompson to lead an extensive international search that considered more than 120 applicants for the role.
“I’m honoured to have earned the confidence of the Board and I look forward to the exciting work ahead with the team,” McCready said. “Atlantic Lottery has always punched above its weight. With increasing competition in the sector, we are emerging as a leader in healthy play for our customers while continuing to make a game-changing impact for the people and places of Atlantic Canada.”
McCready is a seasoned executive with deep experience in the North American gaming sector. Prior to serving as Chief Strategy Officer and leading the development of the corporation’s recent five-year strategic plan, he was Vice-President at Inversa Systems after serving as a Deputy Minister with the Government of New Brunswick. His previous experience in the gaming industry came from his time with Spielo Gaming.
