Proudly supporting community initiatives for nearly 50 years
As a publicly owned corporation, Atlantic Canadians and their communities are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why Atlantic Lottery has proudly supported community initiatives across Atlantic Canada since its inception in 1976.
Following an in-depth review of our sponsorship program with input from various stakeholders and partners, Atlantic Lottery is welcoming a new approach to support our communities in 2025. This approach will help us better serve and support local communities through our new and improved sponsorship program.
Building Better Communities
Atlantic Lottery is proud to support community initiatives that have important cultural, social, and economic impacts across the region. 100% of the profit we make gets put back into the provinces we call home, but we know that giving back goes beyond just the profit returned. We’re proud that our sponsorship program is another way that we can further invest in Atlantic Canada.
Curious about what kinds of initiatives we sponsor? First and foremost, Atlantic Lottery supports community initiatives making a positive impact in Atlantic Canadian communities. Community initiatives take many forms and may include community and cultural celebrations, large-scale events and festivals, or civic and charitable initiatives that align with Atlantic Lottery’s values and priorities. Under this broad banner, our primary focus is on community initiatives that support and promote culture and heritage, community and economic development, and wellness.
Culture and Heritage: Supports the expression and celebration of Atlantic Canada’s art, culture, and heritage that is representative of the diverse communities in which we live.
Community and Economic Development: Drives economic activity through community-building initiatives, business-related events, tourism, and community-led innovation.
Wellness: Supports and enhances the overall physical and mental wellbeing of the community, including healthy play practices.

We evaluate each request with care and consider things like total number of attendees, audience size, reach and timing. Our goal with the program is to ensure we support communities across Atlantic Canada all year long. Of course, budget plays a big factor when reviewing each request, and while we wish we could say yes to everyone, we unfortunately are not able to. Communication is also an important factor for us. We want to work together to ensure that we are able to support your communication goals while finding interesting opportunities to provide valuable and unique experiences for your attendees.
Each application will receive a score out of 1000 to further help us make a decision. We will be evaluating responses based on the following types of questions: location of community initiative, alignment with program (see three themes above), IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility), activation and brand placement, speaking and networking opportunities, and sustainability.

We review sponsorship applications quarterly, aligned with our fiscal year. Below are the deadlines and response dates for each application period.
Q1 (April-June): applications due December 1, response provided on January 1
Q2 (July-September): applications due March 1, response provided on April 1
Q3 (October-December): applications due June 1, response provided on July 1
Q4 (January-March): applications due September 1, response provided on October 1
While we wish we could say yes to every request, we do have certain funding restrictions in place.

*Community initiative sponsorship amounts vary and typically start at $2,500.
